TABH Challenge 27

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop. We are three friends with a love for stamping and paper crafting, and would like to share our creative ideas with you on the 3rd of each month. There are only three stops on this hop, so it will only take a few minutes to hop through. When you finish hopping, be sure to check out the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge!

Our June challenge is anything with wings. The Wild & Punny stamp set has the cutest little animals with coordinating sentiments. I couldn't resist using the flamingo with a cluster of balloons.

I used ShinHan Touch Twin markers to color in the flamingo. The balloons are from the Party Balloons stamp set. After stamping the outlines and solid colors, I heat embossed the designs with silver embossing powder.

Each balloon has a silver string leading to the bow near the flamingo's foot. I wanted it to look like he's holding them. I used the Splash of Color (retired) stamp set to help ground the images.

The "punny" sentiment on the inside was the inspiration for using the balloons with the flamingo.

Thanks for hopping by today! Hop over to Lisa's Blog and Donna's Blog to see what they created for you. Be sure to head over to Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges to play along for a small prize.

Color Dare #288 Happy Day

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is to use only Lagoon, Mink, Peacock, and Silver is required. You may also use White Daisy, but no Black this time.

When I pulled out my Mink Cardstock, I immediately thought of the adorable elephant in the Sweet Baby stamp set. I stamped him with Mink Ink on the light side of the cardstock, cut him out with the coordinating Thin Cuts, and started designing a card around him. He looked a little lost on the White Daisy panel, so I added a festive texture with the Confetti Embossing Folder. The white panel is matted with Silver Foil Paper and adhered to a Peacock card base.

I stamped three of the balloon designs with Peacock Ink on Lagoon cardstock, then accented them with the Silver Metallics Pen. The Happy Day sentiment is from the Short & Sweet stamp set.

The inside sports more Silver Foil Paper and a sentiment from the Sweet Birthday stamp set.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, April 26th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Color Dare #286 Party Time

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! It's the last Color Challenge in March and Tic-Tac-Toe is here again. You get to choose colors from a Tic-Tac-Toe board using the Close to My Heart color palette from the featured paper pack of this month "Stargazer." I chose to use the first column of colors, Sapphire, Pacifica, and Canary, with a splash of Poppy.

Keeping it fast and simple this time by using a Picture My Life card from the Summertime set, a bit of paper from the Stargazer Paper Packet, and the Birthday Time Stamp of The Month set. The PML card had the Sapphire and Pacifica dots on it with a sentiment in the center that said "Sweet Summertime." I used my Circle Thin Cuts to cut that sentiment off (I can save it to use on a layout) and replaced it with the Party Time sentiment from the SOTM. I thought the blues and yellow could use a splash of red, so I added a small strip of Poppy striped paper and a few Poppy Enamel Dots.

I used the clear shimmer pen to add sparkle to PARTY and the Sapphire dots on the PML card. The white circle is popped up with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

The inside sports the same Canary and Poppy B&T papers as the front. I combined two sentiments from the SOTM for the inside sentiment.

Ready to play? Just create a project using at least three colors in a row of your choice. You must identify the row you chose with your entry. You may also add any or all of the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe board and Black and White Daisy are always free to use but please do not add extra colors. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, April 12th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Color Dare #280- Warm Birthday Wishes

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is to use only Pixie, Emerald, and Pansy. Unless otherwise indicated, you may also use Black and White Daisy.

Since the colors in this challenge are so saturated, I decided to add Black and White Daisy to the mix. I cut strips of paper from the Make Waves Paper Packet, adhered them to a black base, and added white, cloud-like sentiment piece.

I stamped the birthday sentiment with Emerald Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. A few Make Waves sequins add a finishing touch.

I carried the striped pattern from the front to the inside as well.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Three Amigos June 2017 Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop. We are three Close To My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping, and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd of each month, we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project. There are only three stops on this hop, so it will only take a few minutes to hop through. When you finish hopping, be sure to check out the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge!

This month we are sharing projects using the No Worries paper pack (papers or featured colors) from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. The featured colors are cashmere, glacier, lagoon, sapphire, whisper, and white daisy.
The colors in this paper pack are perfect for a masculine card. I paired the herringbone basket-weave patterned paper with cashmere, sapphire, and white daisy cardstocks. I heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder, spattered it with cashmere ink, and popped up the "are really really" banner. I enhanced the visual texture of the patterned paper with white and blue burlap ribbon and blue enamel dots.

I added a few finishing touches to the inside and stamped a sentiment from the Workshops Your Way Let's Party stamp set.

Thanks for hopping by today! Hop over to Lisa's Blog and Donna's Blog to see what they created for you, then over to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge. We hope you play along!

Some Kinda Wonderful Birthday

Hello, I'm so happy you stopped by today! Quilt patterns are a great source of inspiration for creating backgrounds on cards. I put together this card using zip strip pieces and scraps from the Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack.

I added my "quilt" pieces to a black cardstock base, which made them look even more vibrant. Since the background has so much pattern going on, I kept the sentiment piece simple. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a black pennant shape to play off of the black an white in the card. The white enamel dots mimic the white dot pattern in one of my quilt strips. I backed the black pennant with a piece of the raspberry patterned paper to make it stand out from the backdrop. The sentiment piece is adhered with dimensional foam as well.

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your cards too!

Edited to add:
I should have included my process for making the background. I drew the design on grid paper to create a template to follow. I used my clear ruler to space each piece 1/8" apart. I found it easiest to place the long blue piece toward the bottom right corner first. Hope this helps!

Have you played along with the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge yet? The challenge is simple, just create something using the Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack, or any of the colors featured in that pack. I can't wait to see what you create!

Three Amigos January 2017 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop. We are three Close To My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping, and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd of each month, we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project. There are only three stops on this hop, so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

The new year brings new challenges to our hop. This month we are creating a project using the Sugar Rush Paper Pack and/or color palette. I created a double z-fold card using Glacier Cardstock as the base and three patterns from the B&T Duos. Glacier is not a listed color for this paper pack, but it was a better fit for my card.

This was my first attempt at a double z-fold card, and I was surprised at how quickly it came together! The donut whipped up in no time using the thin Cuts. I used the masking technique to stamp both sentiments in two colors.

If you look closely, you can see that I layered the heart design washi tape over the pomegranate washi tape from the Sugar Rush Washi Pack to create an extra little "ribbon" banner. The Sugar Rush Dots add a bit of sparkle to the front as well.

I added the layered washi tape to the inside banner too. I thought about adding more bling, but decided to stamp the little heart trio near the bottom instead.

Three Amigos August 2016 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog hop.  We are three Close to My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you.  On the 3rd of each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project.  There are only three stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

Our theme of three continues this month with the challenge of using three folds on our project. I pulled out new products from the 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations Idea Book. If you haven't had the opportunity to look through the idea book yet, you're in for a treat. CTMH introduced a new Color of the Year called Sea Glass. They are right on trend, because I see this color everywhere I go.

I made an easel card with Sea Glass Cardstock as the base. You'll see the three folds in the side view below. I layered Sea Glass Glitter Paper onto White Daisy Cardstock to created the two panels for my card. The adorable cupcake and sentiment are from the new Sweet Birthday stamp set. I heat embossed the cupcake and party hat using Versamark Ink and Gold Embossing Powder. The images are water colored using our ink pads, paint brushes, and lots of water. I squeezed a bit of ink into the lid of the pad, dipped my brush into water, picked up some ink, and painted away. My little cupcake rests on a banner cut from a design included in the Whimsy Fundamentals Paper Pack.

This is the view from the side. I scored a 4.25 x 12" piece of Sea Glass Cardstock at 1.5", 3", and 6". The overall dimension of the card when folded is 4.25 x 5.5".  If you look closely, you'll see that I inked the edges of the card base, white panels, and glitter paper with the Sea Glass Mini Pigment Ink Pad. The banner and sentiment piece are inked with Smoothie Ink. The banner, cupcake, and sentiment are all popped up with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

Thanks for hopping by today! Be sure to hop over to Lisa's blog and Donna's blog to see what they created this month.

Have a Purr-fect Birthday

The August Stamp of The Month, Purr-fect Halloween, is so cute! I'm not quite ready to make Halloween themed projects, but that cute cat is "purr-fect" for a birthday card.

I stamped the cat onto a scrap of Saffron patterned paper from the Florence paper pack, cut him out, and popped him up on the front of my card. His bow-tie is made out of two of the banner pieces stamped onto Ruby patterned paper and fussy cut. I added a sequin to the center of the bow-tie. The background is a PML card included in the Florence paper pack. I did a little masking for the sentiment. "Have a purr-fect" is from the SOTM set and "Birthday!" is from a new stamp set called Sweet Birthday.

Of course, I had to decorate the inside of the card too! The "#BESTBIRTHDAYEVER" sentiment is included in the Wise Guy Birthday stamp set.

I love that the cat looks like he's sitting in a bed of flowers!

Thanks for stopping by today! Come back tomorrow for the monthly Three Amigos Blog Hop!
