Color Dare #286 Party Time

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! It's the last Color Challenge in March and Tic-Tac-Toe is here again. You get to choose colors from a Tic-Tac-Toe board using the Close to My Heart color palette from the featured paper pack of this month "Stargazer." I chose to use the first column of colors, Sapphire, Pacifica, and Canary, with a splash of Poppy.

Keeping it fast and simple this time by using a Picture My Life card from the Summertime set, a bit of paper from the Stargazer Paper Packet, and the Birthday Time Stamp of The Month set. The PML card had the Sapphire and Pacifica dots on it with a sentiment in the center that said "Sweet Summertime." I used my Circle Thin Cuts to cut that sentiment off (I can save it to use on a layout) and replaced it with the Party Time sentiment from the SOTM. I thought the blues and yellow could use a splash of red, so I added a small strip of Poppy striped paper and a few Poppy Enamel Dots.

I used the clear shimmer pen to add sparkle to PARTY and the Sapphire dots on the PML card. The white circle is popped up with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

The inside sports the same Canary and Poppy B&T papers as the front. I combined two sentiments from the SOTM for the inside sentiment.

Ready to play? Just create a project using at least three colors in a row of your choice. You must identify the row you chose with your entry. You may also add any or all of the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe board and Black and White Daisy are always free to use but please do not add extra colors. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, April 12th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Color dare #284 Keep Your Fin Up

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is Glacier, Pacifica, and optional Silver. Unless otherwise indicated, you may also use Black and White Daisy.

I was feeling a little under the weather this week, so I'm a little late with my post. I knew I wanted to make something with the whale from the Make Waves-Cardmaking Stamp Set for this challenge, but wasn't sure how I wanted my project to come together. When I was finally able to sit down and create, my card practically made itself!

Since we have a Die-namite sale going on with our Thin Cuts this month, I decided to use a couple on this card. Using the negative cut from the Scallop Border Thin Cuts, I created waves for that sweet whale using Pacifica Cardstock and Pacifica B&T paper from the Adventure Fundamentals Paper Packet. I like the variation of color from the watercolor design of the B&T paper, and the shadow effect from the solid cardstock. My sky was created by sponging White Daisy Pigment Ink onto Glacier Cardstock using a couple cloud-shaped templates I made.

I stamped the sentiment and the whale with Archival Black Ink, and then with VersaMark Ink before heat embossing with clear embossing powder to give them a little shine. For added texture, I stitched the spray lines. The front panel is double matted with Silver Foil Paper and Black Cardstock.

The inside has plenty of room to write a message. I stamped the fin image in the lower corner to play on the front message.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, March 29th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #12

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop. We are three Close To My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping, and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd of each month, we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project. There are only three stops on this hop, so it will only take a few minutes to hop through. When you finish hopping, be sure to check out the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge!

Our challenge for this month is "Out Of This World." Let your imagination run wild!  Whether it's Outer Space, Mermaids, Fairies or anything magical, fantastical, or other worldly!

As soon as i saw the Super Girl stamp set, I knew I had to make a card for my sister who collects Wonder Woman stuff. She recently hit a few awesome goals, and I wanted to show her how happy I am for her! I saw a tutorial here for an interactive slider card that was perfect for my theme. I stamped, water colored (using a waterbrush and our ink pads), and die-cut the super girl image and adhered her to the slider mechanism of my card.

When you pull the slider tab, she flies across the card to save the day.

I added a few glittery touches to her gloves, bow, star, and boots with the Clear Shimmer Pen. I also shimmered the two sentiments (Wow! and GiRL CAN). A couple retired Enamel Stars finish off the front design.

To make it easier to grab the slider tab, I notched a little area on the card base. I stamped a few stars from the Stargazer-Cardmaking stamp set on the inside, making sure I left plenty of room to write a message.

Thanks for hopping by today! Hop over to Lisa's Blog and Donna's Blog to see what they created for you, then over to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge. We hope you play along!

Color Dare #282 You Are Special

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is Pick Your Own Red with optional Gold. Unless otherwise indicated, you may also use Black and White Daisy.

The graphic for Pick Your Own Red shows Poppy, Ruby, and Cranberry, but I chose to use Pomegranate. I die cut the triangles from Gold Glitter Paper and Gold Foil Paper, randomly placed them on my front panel, and left room to heat emboss a sentiment in gold. The panel is matted with black cardstock and adhered to a white card base.

The camera just doesn't capture the shine of the gold foil with the glimmer of the glitter paper. The gold foil pieces inside the triangles actually look like little mirrors.

I added another gold embossed sentiment inside with an inlaid triangle that is an opposite of the front triangles (this one has a gold foil outline with glitter inserts). The sentiments are from the Notes of Inspiration Stamp Set.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too.
