Color Dare #290 Just For You

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! It's the last Color Challenge in April and Tic-Tac-Toe is here again. You get to choose colors from a Tic-Tac-Toe board using the Close to My Heart color palette from the featured paper pack of this month "Gimme Some Sugar." You MUST use and identify the three colors in a row of your choice; however we will allow any or all other colors from the Challenge Board to be included. I chose to use the third column of colors, Bashful, Mink, and Blossom.

I created an ombre effect using the light and dark sides of Blossom and Bashful Cardstock and a couple stitched border dies. The layers created a clean and simple card with a dramatic feel.

I wanted the waves of color to be the star of the show on this card, so I chose a small sentiment (stamped with Mink Ink and accented with Clear Shimmer Brush). A small border of Black Cardstock makes the pink colors pop.

For continuity, I repeated the front design on the inside of the card.

Ready to play? Just create a project using at least three colors in a row of your choice. You must identify the row you chose with your entry. You may also add any or all of the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe board, but please do not add extra colors. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 10pm EST Thursday, May 10th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by today!

One Design, Two Cards

Hello! Popping in to share a couple cards a put together using the same pattern from Make It from Your Heart, Vol. 4, but using different B&T papers and stamps.

I actually made this first card back in January while I was on a scrap and chat call with my good friend in California, but forgot to share it here. I used the bulk B&T Chelsea Gardens paper that comes with the Sending Hugs Cardmaking WYW Kit and pattern 13 from MIFYH Vol. 4. Our how to books make it fast and simple to pull a card together!

The wreath and sentiment are stamped with Charcoal Ink on the light side of Linen Cardstock. I painted the flowers and leaves by picking up ink (Glacier and Sweet Leaf) with a water brush and applying it to the image. Bitty Sparkles adorn the centers of each flower. I used the Thin Cuts- Basic Circle Tags to die cut the images and tied them to the ribbon with a strand of twine.

The inside is blank and ready for a personalized message.

A couple days ago, a friend of mine and her daughter came over to make Mother's Day cards. I used the bulk B&T Gimme Some Sugar paper from the You Are More Cardmaking WYW Kit and the same pattern to design a sample card.

Really, the only differences are the papers and stamps used. I paired a floral image from the It's A Date stamp set with a sentiment from the For You Darling stamp set. The flowers are colored with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

I left room for a handwritten message on the inside of this card as well.

Chelsea Gardens and Gimme Some Sugar will be going away at the end of this month. Watch for the new Seasonal Expressions to go live May 1st!

Color Dare #288 Happy Day

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is to use only Lagoon, Mink, Peacock, and Silver is required. You may also use White Daisy, but no Black this time.

When I pulled out my Mink Cardstock, I immediately thought of the adorable elephant in the Sweet Baby stamp set. I stamped him with Mink Ink on the light side of the cardstock, cut him out with the coordinating Thin Cuts, and started designing a card around him. He looked a little lost on the White Daisy panel, so I added a festive texture with the Confetti Embossing Folder. The white panel is matted with Silver Foil Paper and adhered to a Peacock card base.

I stamped three of the balloon designs with Peacock Ink on Lagoon cardstock, then accented them with the Silver Metallics Pen. The Happy Day sentiment is from the Short & Sweet stamp set.

The inside sports more Silver Foil Paper and a sentiment from the Sweet Birthday stamp set.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, April 26th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #13

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop. We are three friends with a love for stamping and scrapping, and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd of each month, we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project. There are only three stops on this hop, so it will only take a few minutes to hop through. When you finish hopping, be sure to check out the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge!

This month's challenge is April Showers!  With rain, and possibly even snow, in our forecast, spring projects are very welcome. The Cricut Artistry cartridge contains a very cool raindrop background cut and an umbrella image to coordinate with it. I created a 6x6 card using some retired White Daisy textured cardstock that I've been hoarding saving for just the right occasion. I backed my raindrop cut (also from textured cardstock) with a piece of Lagoon B&T paper from the Adventure Fundamentals Paper Pack.

The umbrella is pieced together using Heather Cardstock, B&T from the Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack, and Bashful Glitter Paper. I added a bit of Clear Shimmer Brush to the Heather part of the handle so it would sparkle like the glitter paper.

More Lagoon B&T on the inside, along with a sentiment banner cut using the Party Banners Thin Cuts. The sentiments are from a stamp set included in the Flower Market Cricut Bundle.

Thanks for hopping by today! Hop over to Lisa's Blog and Donna's Blog to see what they created for you, then over to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge. We hope you play along!
