Have a Purr-fect Birthday

The August Stamp of The Month, Purr-fect Halloween, is so cute! I'm not quite ready to make Halloween themed projects, but that cute cat is "purr-fect" for a birthday card.

I stamped the cat onto a scrap of Saffron patterned paper from the Florence paper pack, cut him out, and popped him up on the front of my card. His bow-tie is made out of two of the banner pieces stamped onto Ruby patterned paper and fussy cut. I added a sequin to the center of the bow-tie. The background is a PML card included in the Florence paper pack. I did a little masking for the sentiment. "Have a purr-fect" is from the SOTM set and "Birthday!" is from a new stamp set called Sweet Birthday.

Of course, I had to decorate the inside of the card too! The "#BESTBIRTHDAYEVER" sentiment is included in the Wise Guy Birthday stamp set.

I love that the cat looks like he's sitting in a bed of flowers!

2016-2017 Annual Inspirations Idea Book is Here!

Hi there! Have you had a chance to look at the new Annual Inspirations Idea Book yet? It's full of gorgeous new Fundamentals Papers, stamp sets, ribbon (YAY!), and embellishments. Here are two cards we created at our annual convention this year using some of the new Enchantment Fundamentals papers, new All The Thanks stamp set, and Enchantment Ribbon Pack. The workshop creates 64 cards from one Fundamentals pack (8 each of 8 designs)! The cards are super easy to make, and the sentiments can be switched up as well. I will share more of the cards as the month progresses.

I added shimmer trim behind the twine on the Sapphire card to make it stand out a bit more.

The new stitched peacock ribbon is one of my faves. Oh, who am I kidding?! They are ALL my faves!

I decorated the insides too.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have some time, check out the new idea book. You won't be disappointed!

Magical Mini Album

Studio time has been at a premium for me this month. I pulled out my Magical Paper Pack last week to make a mini album to hold a few pictures from convention. I finally finished the album this morning. I shared a similar album a couple years ago.

The base of the album is made using one sheet of 12x12 black cardstock, scored and cut. I found a Sticky Boy (the CTMH mascot) stamp at convention and decided he should adorn the cover of my album. I stamped Sticky Boy and Convention 2016 with black ink and heat embossed it with clear detail embossing powder.

This is the view when the front cover is opened. The buttons on the flaps are punched out of cardstock and sewn on with white twine to reduce the bulk.

The mini album opens up to reveal three sections. The first section is a pocket holding a journaling tag. The middle and right sections open up to reveal more photo spots.

We had so much fun at convention this year! Next year the CTMH convention will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Would you like to join the fun? Visit my website for details about joining my team and the great consultant sign up special going on until July 31st.

Three Amigos July 2016 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog hop.  We are three Close to My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you.  On the 3rd of each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project.  There are only three stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month we are continuing our theme of three by using three fonts on our projects. Since the three of us recently returned from our convention at Disney World, I pulled out my Magical Paper Packet to make my project. As I flipped through my Idea Book looking for inspiration for three fonts, I stumbled upon the Beyond Awesome stamp set. The sentiment I used contains three different fonts. The design of my card was inspired by one of our convention make and take projects.

I didn't want to leave the inside of the card blank, so I pulled out the Crazy Good stamp set and added a few banners.

I stamped the "Awesome" sentiment using Sapphire Ink and then again using Cranberry Ink. I fussy cut the cranberry Awesome banner and used thin 3-D foam tape to pop it up over the sapphire stamped banner.

Thanks for hopping by today! Be sure to hop over to Lisa's blog and Donna's blog to see what they created this month.

Three Amigos June 2016 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog hop.  We are three Close to My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you.  On the 3rd of each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project.  There are only three stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

For this month's hop, we are each sharing three of our favorite products. Choosing only three favorites from all that we have to offer was no easy task! I settled on our B&T Duos (from the Florence Paper Packet), Thin Cuts (A Bunch of Love), and Rose Gold Foil Tape for my project.

Last month I made a birthday card using the special Happy Times Paper Packet, Happy Times Stamp set, and the May SOTM, Celebrate with Cake. I neglected to post the project during the month of May, so I will share it at the end of this post. I liked the card so much, I decided to use the same design and concepts to create a card for this hop.

The edges of the card front, one of the mats, and the inside of the card are all covered with the Rose Gold Foil Tape. I tried to capture the shine of the foil in the pictures. I stamped the floral image with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with Shin Han Touch Twin Markers. After lining up the image inside the matching A Bunch Of Love thin Cuts, I ran it through my Cuttlebug and popped it up on the card with 3-D Foam Tape.

I curved the sentiment on my block to fit inside the banner. The background piece has a light wash of blue watercolor paint.

I lightly embellished the inside of the card with two of the B&T Duos from the Florence Paper Packet. The Rose Gold Foil Tape is the star of the show as it shimmers in the light.

The card I created last month with the Happy Times Paper Packet is a rotated version of the special friend card I just shared. I loved the gold foil embossing on some of the Happy Times B&T papers and wanted to highlight it with the Gold Foil Tape.

The happy birthday sentiment of the front and celebrate sentiment on the inside are embossed with gold embossing powder, adding to the shine from the gold foil.

Three Amigos May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog hop.  We are three Close to My Heart Independent Consultants with a love for stamping and scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you.  On the 3rd of each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout, or other project.  There are only three stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

Lisa wasn't able to get her hop projects ready before flying out to visit her son this month, but don't despair. We have a special hopper this month. Lisa's mom, Suzanne Reynolds, graciously accepted the challenge. This month, our theme of "three" is to create three cards to share.

Back in March, I attended a special CTMH event and was able to get a sneak peek at all of the fabulous new products in the new Seasonal Expressions. Our projects included a layout from the Magical paper pack, two cards from the Florence paper pack, and a banner from the Calypso paper pack. I'm going to share one of the cards we made, and two cards I designed from the banner pieces we received.

My first card is a graduation card using Florence papers and the Smarty Pants stamp set. I assembled the front of the card following the design instructions we were given, but inked the edges of the paper pieces. I also decorated the inside of the card.

I trimmed one of the PML cards included in the Florence paper pack and adhered it to the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment for the inside and matted it to match the sentiment on the card front.

The Calypso paper and the Tickled Pink stamp set have to be one of my favorite combinations in the book! I heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder. The flamingo wing and the two hearts were embossed using clear embossing powder over the stamped image. I decided to double mat the card front. I love how the black mat makes the colors pop. The flamingo was cut using the Tickled Pink Thin Cuts.

I used the Calypso Washi Tape to dress up the inside of the card. Isn't it the cutest?!

Here's a little detail of the card front. I tried to capture the shine from the heat embossing, but wasn't able to.

My final card also uses the Calypso paper pack. I cut down the "Hello" PML card and matted it for the front. I used liquid glass on the "Hello" sentiment to make it stand out a little more (Lisa would be so proud! She is the liquid glass queen!) I sprinkled Calypso sequins and bitty sparkles down the front of the card and added a bow from Pixie Extra Thick Twine.

A couple banner flags, sequins, and sparkles adorn the inside of the card.

Here's a closer view of the front. The liquid glass doesn't show up (sigh), but it helps give the sentiment dimension.
