Color Dare #298 Let's Celebrate

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is to use only New England Ivy, Linen, and Blossom, with optional Gold or Silver. You may also use White Daisy and Black, but please do not add additional colors.

Flowers were the first thing that came to mind when I saw this challenge. I tried to think outside the box to come up with something different, but wasn't thrilled by my attempts. So, flowers it is. I pulled out my Make It From Your Heart, Vol. 4 pattern book, a B&T paper from the Fresh Air Paper Packet, the Documented- Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts set, and a few scrap pieces of cardstock to get started.

I stamped all of my images with New England Ivy ink and added color to the flowers using a dry waterbrush and a bit of Blossom ink from the lid of my pad. If you look closely, The Linen panel is stamped tone-on-tone using the Splash of Color stamp set. I replaced the rectangular sentiment panel with die-cut circles, slightly offsetting them for added interest. I showcased the flower near the sentiment by adding a few pieces of the New England Ivy Burlap Ribbon. Clear Sparkles and Silver Foil Paper add lots of sparkle and shine.

I carried the front design into the inside of the card to finish it off.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, July 5th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #15

Did you miss me on June 3rd? I know Lisa said I was on vacation, but it was more like a staycation. My dad was visiting for two weeks at the end of May (he surprised me by giving me one days notice that he was coming a week early!) He left on the 3rd, but as luck would have it, I was sick in bed the entire week after. It has taken me until now to recoup. I'm still not caught up, but I missed my studio and decided to make this card. June's challenge is to use machine die cutting (Cricut, Brother, Silhouette, Big shot, Cuttlebug, or whatever machine you use).

Have you seen the Create The Rainbow sale yet? You won't want to miss out on the great deals this month! I love that CTMH grouped color families into cardstock bundles for this sale. I chose the Blue Cardstock Bundle for this card, which includes Crystal Blue, Glacier, and Sapphire.

I die cut chevron shapes from each of the blue colors, then stacked them on a white panel. The panel is raised off of the card base with a piece of white craft foam. The sentiment is from the Stamp Set included in the Cricut Flower Market Collection. I added a few Bitty Sparkles (also on sale this month, and a must have for your stash) around the sentiment.

The inside mimics the front and includes another sentiment from the same stamp set.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Be sure to check out the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge for this month. Lisa and Donna have some cute inspiration posted for you as well!

Color Dare #296- Celebrate

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week we are challenging you to create something using only Toffee, Juniper, and Pomegranate with Gold as an optional add on. You may also include White Daisy and Black, but please do not add any other colors.

It's been a while since I've been able to get into my studio. My dad came to visit for 10 days, then I ended up sick in bed for another 4 days. I'm still not feeling 100%, but I was feeling too restless to stay in bed. I put this card together fairly quickly when you subtract the breaks I had to take to rest.

I used the new Thin Cuts- Stitched Circles dies to cut an assortment of circles from Juniper and Pomegranate Cardstock, making sure the side of cardstock I wanted showing (I used the light side) faced the cut edge of the die. I drew three light pencil lines on the left side of a Toffee cardstock panel (light side cut 1/4" smaller than the card base) and began arranging the circles. Once I was happy with the design, I lightly adhered each circle in place, poked holes using the Stitch Ruler and Piercing Tool, and hand sewed them into place with two strands of the White Twine.

I dug through my embellishments and found retired sequins from Dreamin' Big and No Worries that matched the Juniper and Toffee colors perfectly. I wish I could have found a match for the Pomegranate as well. I'll have to keep digging. The sentiment is stamped with Juniper Pigment Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I brought a few of the die-cut circles and sequins to the inside of the card as well.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, which gives you until 11pm EST Thursday, June 21st to enter this one! I can't wait to see what you create!

This card actually fulfills three challenges this week. Color Dare, Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges (machine die-cutting challenge), and a new one called Double Trouble Challenge. Be sure to check them all out!

Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit!
