This month we are sharing projects using Jack (papers or featured colors) from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. The featured colors are black, juniper, ruby, slate, sweet leaf, whisper, and white daisy.
I love cards with special folds, and decided to make one to share today. I also made a coordinating box to go along with it. I used four colors of cardstock, the tree background and texture pattern from the paper pack, and the Jack Cardmaking Stamp with coordinating Thin Cuts for both. This bear is my favorite stamp in the entire seasonal expressions book!
This card has two "panels" that open up to reveal the message inside. The first panel is the bear tab, which opens to the right.
I decided to cut a second bear shape with the thin cuts, but couldn't leave it just plain. I inked up one of the bears ears to make his tail, and added more fur by turning the stamp 180 degrees before stamping. Isn't he just the cutest?!
Open the second panel to the left to reveal the sentiment on the inside. The hearts are each embellished with a bitty sparkle.
I decorated the top of my box to coordinate with the card I made. You can fill it with a set of cards or a small gift. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but I stamped an extra nose for each bear and popped it up with thin 3D foam tape.
I found directions for the box here, but changed the dimensions for mine to fit a 4.25x5.5 card. With a depth of one inch, you can easily fit a set of four cards with envelopes inside. I gave a few of these boxes filled with assorted cards to some of my CTMH pals at convention.
Here's a photo of my measurements and basic directions.

Love how the bear is attached to a flap to open the card. Hard to see, but the popped noses is a great textural addition to these fun projects!

DeleteI've been thinking about adding a tail. I didn't think it would matter that much, but I was w.r.o.n.g! Such a cute card, not that I like that bear! ;o)
