Color Dare #282 You Are Special

It's time for another Color My Heart Color Dare challenge! This week's challenge is Pick Your Own Red with optional Gold. Unless otherwise indicated, you may also use Black and White Daisy.

The graphic for Pick Your Own Red shows Poppy, Ruby, and Cranberry, but I chose to use Pomegranate. I die cut the triangles from Gold Glitter Paper and Gold Foil Paper, randomly placed them on my front panel, and left room to heat emboss a sentiment in gold. The panel is matted with black cardstock and adhered to a white card base.

The camera just doesn't capture the shine of the gold foil with the glimmer of the glitter paper. The gold foil pieces inside the triangles actually look like little mirrors.

I added another gold embossed sentiment inside with an inlaid triangle that is an opposite of the front triangles (this one has a gold foil outline with glitter inserts). The sentiments are from the Notes of Inspiration Stamp Set.

Ready to play? Just create a project using ALL and ONLY the colors in this week's challenge. If you don't have the exact colors, use the closest colors you have. Our color challenges are open for two weeks, giving you more time and flexibility to create, share, and invite your crafty friends to join us too. You have until 11pm EST Thursday, March 15th to enter! I can't wait to see what you create!

  1. Susan this is so pretty! I love the softer red of Pomegranate. Pairing with gold like you did is fab!

    1. Thank you, Michelle! I designed the card thinking gold was required, and didn’t care for the combo at first. I’m pleased with the result though.

  2. Love the combination and random placement of the triangles using foil and gold glitter with the red background...I'm sure it's even more stunning than photo.

    1. Thanks, Sue! I haven’t mastered the art of photographing all of the shimmer and shine yet. It really is pretty in person.
