Three Amigos May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month we are sharing projects featuring the Free To Be Me paper pack to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month.  The paper pack features six B&T Duos, six sheets of embossed cardstock, and two sheets of embossed vellum.  The paper pack is only $5 with a $50 purchase during the month of May.

I decided to make a mini album to share this month.  The album is held closed with a belly band that I decorated with a couple feathers and my daughter's first initial.

The album opens up to three sections.  The first section has a pocket that holds a tag.

The middle and right sections have space to include pictures and a little bit of journaling.

This is what the album looks like when it is fully opened.  I used the gold polka-dot embossed vellum to create a pocket for a journaling tag.

Thanks for hopping by!  Now hop on over to Lisa's blog to see what she created.

Three Amigos April Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month we are featuring the Ivy Lane papers.  Back in February, I made a pop-up box card for my daughter for Valentine's Day.  She loved it!  With Mother's Day just around the corner, I decided to make a similar card using the Ivy Lane papers.  Once I choose the perfect sentiment, I'll add it and maybe a few sequins here and there.

I discovered that our retired Garnet Cardstock coordinated with Ivy Lane beautifully and used it for the base and a few of the hearts.  I cut the hearts in various sizes using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, inked all of the edges, and layered them into the box.

After I assembled the card, I thought it needed a little more sparkle.  I covered three chipboard hearts with glitter paper from the Brown & Tan collection.  Three of the hearts are attached with strips of transparency overlays to give them a little movement.

This is what the card looks like when it's folded.  I was able to fit it into a 6x6 envelope. The base of the card is decorated with gold shimmer trimand pieces of the zip-strip from the top of the patterned paper.

A Little FUNN-ercise

My friend and upline, Mary Gunn, gave her team a little FUNN-ercise challenge a few weeks ago to create a card from Make It From Your Heart Volume 2: Pattern 28.  Mary is so creative and inspirational.   I made the card, but didn't get around to sharing it.  So, here it is...

Part of the challenge was to use background and texture paper from two different packs.  I used scraps from Lollydoodle and Balloon Ride.

I paper pieced the car image by stamping it on several different paper scraps. Then, I added Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint to the back windshield to give the illusion of reflection and red Glitz glitter gel for the taillights.  The cans are colored in with a tiny bit of Juniper ink on the tip of a slightly damp watercolor brush.  The sentiment in the stamp set says "You are the One."  I masked off the "the," giving the sentiment a new meaning.  A few sparkles and Teal Shimmer Trim add a touch of bling to the sentiment area.

X7180B Balloon Ride Paper pack
X7183B Lollydoodle Paper Pack

Three Amigos March Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month we chose to create with our new embossing folders.  A few days ago, I was looking at some of my favorite blogs and creative websites and was inspired by a project at Scrapbook & Cards Today.   I immediately imagined the card with the Lollydoodle paper pack.

I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the placard shape behind the flower as well as the flower circles.  To add interest to the placard, I stamped a wood grain background and anchored it with two Aqua Dots.  I embossed the sentiment banner with the new Strip Embossing Folder, adding a subtle texture.  The sentiment was stamped on the banner after it was embossed using White Daisy Pigment Ink.

The placard and flower are popped up with 3-D foam tape for added dimension.  You can see a video of Lynn Ghahary's "Hello There" card here.

Three Amigos February Blog Hop

Welcome to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.  The Spring/Summer Idea Book is finally here!.  We chose to highlight Skylark this month.

I decided to create the Skylark WOTG layout with a few changes.  I added a couple cards from the new Skylark Picture My Life set and some of the Skylark Dimensional Elements.  I wanted to keep the layout fairly simple and organic, so I used embellishments sparingly.  Once I have the pictures on the layout, I might add a few more resin birds and flowers from the Skylark Assortment.

This layout will feature pictures of my youngest daughter, Alayna,  As soon as she saw the paper pack and accessories, she loved them.  The title is a little inside thing between Alayna and her best friend.  Now, whenever we want to thank Alayna for something she's done or just let her know how proud we are, we tell her "You're The Birds."

I created the title on a card from the PML set.  As soon as I saw this card, I knew I had to use it.  Since the image on the card is the same image on the paper used in the WOTG flyer, I decided to stamp the base pages of my layout with the Flight of Arrows stamp set.

I plan to write a condensed version of how Alayna became "The Birds" on another card from the PML set.  Alayna would like me to add a couple arrows and maybe a feather charm from the new Base and Bling accessories.

Puppy Love

Just before the new year, I ordered three Studio J layouts featuring my two puppies, Cappi and Truffles.  Well, they're not really puppies any more, but I will always refer to them that way.  The quality of the layouts surpassed my expectations.  I definitely see more Studio J in my future.

Cappi and Truffles are only 9 1/2 weeks old in the first layout.  This is their first experience outside in the grass.  I can't believe how small they were then!

Cappi likes to curl up in the oddest places.  We found her inside Alayna's backpack one morning as we were getting ready for school.  She's just a little furry ball of cuteness.

They are both lovers of snow.  The cold temperatures don't phase them a bit.  After a good romp, they come in covered in little snowballs.  This time Truffles' feet were so heavy she had a hard time walking.

If you haven't already tried it, you should give Studio J a whirl.  Studio J is web based, meaning no programs to download, and you only pay if you order prints. You'll find a treasure trove of kit designs and layouts to choose from.  Best of all, you can access your account anywhere you have internet access.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Three Amigos January Blog Hop

Happy New Year! Several products will be retiring at the end of this month to make room for all of the new products in the Spring/Summer Idea Book that goes live on February 1st.  Our projects this month will highlight some of our favorite retiring items.

I'm going to share three simple projects with you this month.  My first project is a Burlap Valentine treat bag.

I covered Dimensional Elements Heart Shapes with Chantilly and Sparkle & Shine Textiles.  The hearts are layered with ruffled Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, a heart from the Base & Bling Word Accents, a bit of baker's twine from the Ruby Mini Medley Accents Collection, and one sparkle from the Pink Glitter Gems.

The next two projects are tags that came together fairly quickly.

This tag features the Babycakes Paper Pack.  The base for the tag was cut on the Cricut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I cut the background and texture paper 1/4" smaller than the sunset base.  The chocolate medallion is adorned with a sentiment from the Perfect Fit- Birthday stamp set and a border from Holiday Tags.  I added Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Slate Striped Twist Ties that I inked to match the papers.  I curled the twist ties around my quilling tool to make them look like confetti.

My final project features the Frosted Paper Pack.  I used this tag for a Christmas gift, but the sentiment could easily be changed for a birthday, thinking of you, or thank you.
